DESCRIPTION
Exploring A World of Wonder Through Gameplay:
The Project
The project's core objective was to develop a first-person 3D game in Unity that both teaches me the required skills needed for basic game development and showcases my creative abilities with the focus of the game being exploration and less narrative-driven I was able to keep the game simple but visually effective.
What I Did
I worked on my own for this project. I was responsible for creating everything within the game, I began building a purpose-built 3D environment, skybox, the main playable character rig, original music, post-processing visual effects in Unity, UI screens, utilising various 3D modelling skills, sculpting, LOD models, retopology, image texturing, UV mapping, texture baking in Blender and optimization of the game in Unity.
Based on my own specifications and requirements as an exercise to learn and showcase, I tried to make the gameplay objective very simple the player must explore and collect all the orbs to complete the level.
I created the game project and its mechanics learning simple C# scripts using the Unity game engine and Visual studio code, resulting in a computer game compatible with a PC, MAC and an Xbox controller.
The End Result
The project is now successfully completed and was showcased on the itch.io website.
